' WORDS WORDS WORDS ' = Thoughts
" WORDS WORDS WORDS " = Said outloud

If there are alot of positive comments and requests for this series to continue, then I will continue it. Also, I know I have books and letters in the story, but let's just pretend that they are waterproof, ok? Remember, rule #1 of anime- Don't question anything. ^-^ Anyway, enjoy!

"Armin! Armin! ARMIN!" His grandfather loomed over the small blond boy, placing old shaky hands on the boy's shoulders.

Armin awoke with a start, small bubbles floating from his mouth and slowly ascending toward the sea shell-imbedded ceiling. His abnormally large ice blue eyes opened and stared into his grandfather smaller chestnut ones. He slowly sat up, his small hands rubbing his eyes, and his lashes lightly tickled his hand.

"Armin, I need you it deliver this letter to your Aunt. It's very important." Armin yawned and nodded his head, his golden honey tresses moving like serpents in the clear blue water.

"Armin, please! You must go now! I don't want you to be out at dark! It's a long trip!" The boy got out of bed and glided toward the front door, and his Grandfather handed him the letter. He patted the boy on his shoulder and shouted

"Hurry home!" as Armin swam off into the distance.

"Hey Eren! I DARE you to go swim out to Sandal Rock and back!" A young teen named Jean told his younger friend Eren.

Eren, Jean, Marco, and Connie were all sitting on logs, gathered around a campfire on the beach. Even though the sky was a nice shade of light orange and not completely dark yet, they still enjoyed munching on a few marshmallows. The sticky substance covered their long fingers, the warm goo mixed will a few grains of sand that were left on their hands.

"Come on, dude! Do it! Do it!" Connie chanted.

Eventually the three guys were all chanting. Eren stood up off the log and threw his hands up in the air.

"Fine! I'll go to Sandal Rock and back!"

Sandal Rock was a medium sized rock located about a half-mile off the shore. About 5 people could all sit on the rock, and it was some-what flat. It was the only rock that poked above the watery horizon. Eren began to take off his socks and shoes, and he threw them by the log he was just sitting on. He didn't bother taking off his plain long sleeve tan cotton shirt. He had to wash it anyway because of his day cooped up in a small classroom in the heat. His rolled up his worn jeans to his knees, and he ran to the water, where the waves rolled in and out, lapping the soft white-sandy shores, where not a single sea-shell littered it. His friends followed him to the water, the only part getting wet was the tips of their school shoes. Eren, meanwhile, was almost above his waist. He continued to paddle toward the direction of the large rock, while the smell of salt and seaweed infiltrated his nose, and the cold water sending jolts to his olive skin. Eren was now shoulder deep, meanwhile his friends kept hollering and saying encouraging words to him. Eren had his eyes on the rock.

'Come on! I can DO this! I'll show them how strong of a swimmer I am.'

As Eren was now fully submerged in the water, but he noticed it was getting slightly harder to swim because of the current.

'Come ON! Don't be a wimp!' Eren continued on.

Finally, he reached the rock. He climbed on the slippery, allege-covered surface and waved his arms about, signally to his friends that he made it. His friends started jumping up and down, and Jean punched Connie's arm playfully, probably because of a bet. Eren smiled and submerged himself back in the water. He started to paddle toward the shore, but he saw his friends back at the campfire talking.

'They know that I can make it.'

Eren kept up his pace, but once he reached about half-way, the current started to pick up. Eren started to have trouble swimming. He was getting exhausted! He tried to holler to his friends but they couldn't hear him.

'Shit!' he cursed.

He kept swimming, hopping he could somehow reach the shore. A large wave came and his head was submerged under the water. He tried to gasp for air, but he only got a lung-full of water. The wave rolled on by, and he struggled to reached the surface. Once he did, he coughed up water and gasped for breath, only to have another wave come and submerge him down in the dark blue abyss of liquid.

'This is it... Isn't it?' He thought to himself. Eren closed his eyes, and let the crystal blue slowly fade to black.

"Hey, I don't see Eren." Marco said.

Jean and Connie looked over to the ocean shore.

"Eh, he probably is just drying off somewhere." Jean said.

"If not that, then he probably ditched us. That little bastard."

Connie and Marco shrugged, and started packing their things.

"Hey, Eren's shoes and socks are still here. Are you sure he's ok? I heard the current is strong out there." Marco said, holding onto Jean's forearm.

Jean lightly knocked his hand off. " I'm sure he's FINE! Just chill. If we don't see him on school Monday, THEN we can be concerned, 'kay?" Marco paused a moment, then nodded.

"Ok Jean."

Once Armin dropped off the letter, which was just some bills ( AN: Stupid overreacting Grandfather! ) he looked upward, and noticed the rippling sky above was about to turn to sunset.

'Perfect! I'll get home right at sunset!' He continued to swim.

He noticed a school of fish swim by, and sighed. 'I wish I had friends like those fish... Well, that's what I get for sticking my nose in a book every day.'

Armin noticed the school of fish were heading toward a large rock in the distance. He looked at the small neon blue fish, as they danced around and glided smoothly and freely though the water. Then, suddenly, they all scattered, and Armin heard flailing from above, near the surface. Armin cautiously approached the strange black shadow that was making all the commotion, and he noticed it was a human. Armin knew that his kind were NOT allowed to have contact with humans, but he couldn't help but to slowly approach it. The human then stopped struggling, and slowly began to sink down. Armin circled around the human, and he couldn't help but be drawn to the boy, his flawless olive skin, his dark brown tuffs of hair flowing freely in the current, the way his clothing slightly fluttered around him, showing his thin yet muscular figure. Armin could have spent HOURS watching the human, but he remembered what his Grandfather had told him about the humans.

"Humans, unlike us, cannot breath water. They breath air. They are like the opposite of us. They also do not believe in us. If you were to be spotted, they could drag you out of the ocean, and who knows what they'll do after that! All I can say is, once you go up you will never come back down." Armin shuddered.

He looked at the human one last time. The human's scrunched-up face was slowly turning more calm and peaceful. Armin knew that if he were to leave the human like this for a while more, he would die. Armin then rapped his arms underneath the humans arms and pulled him to the surface of the water.

Once Armin broke the surface, he looked at the human. He wasn't breathing. Armin looked around frantically and noticed a large rock.

'Perfect!' Armin swam bravely toward the rock, but the current and the extra weight started to cause trouble for Armin as he swam.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he reached the rock. He gently placed the human on the edge of the rock, and Armin crossed his arms and rested them on the rock, his lower body still submerged in the water. He rested his head on his arms and stared at the boy; he was simply breathtaking. Suddenly, the human's face scrunched up again, and he began to cough up water. His kaleidoscope eyes, a mix of blue, green, and grey, opened and started at the light orange sky. His chest slowly rose and fell with each breath, his mouth agape. His head turned slowly toward Armin, and turquoise meet ocean blue.

...To be continued.
