Eren x Mermaid!Armin 2

    '...I'm...alive? HELL YEAH! But...how?' That's when I turned my head and saw him. He was... God, he was gorgeous. His hair was all like the color of the golden sun, and- oh, his eyes were ice blue. There were really big too, which... kinda made him look like a little kid, or someone from those animes I heard about. Oh crap! He's looking at me! 

     They started at each other for awhile, then Eren spoke up.

"H-Hi" He slowly sat up and started twiddling his thumbs.

Armin tilted his head to the side, his hair slowly blowing in the breeze. "Hi." He responded softly.

"Um... Thanks for saving me and all. My name's Eren by the way" Eren said, now sitting on his knees.

Armin nodded, "My name's Armin..."

Eren's cheeks were dusted with pink, and he avoided eye contact from Armin. He gazed toward the beach, and noticed that his friends were no where to be found and the campfire was put out too. He stood up, but fell back down immediately, as a horrible crunching sound emitted from his ankle.

 "OUCH! God damn it!!!" He cursed to himself. "Oh no, what is it?! ....if you, umm, mind me asking." Armin said politely. Eren looked at him,

"Well, one; my friends ditched me and two; I think I broke my ankle." Eren said simply. (AN: When Armin placed Eren on the rock, his ankle twisted the wrong way. That's how he broke it. ) Armin gasped, 

"Oh no! How are you supposed to go back to shore?"

Eren rolled his eyes and began to stand up again, "No worries! I'm a good swimmer, I only need one leg! I know I can make it if I take my time." Eren hobbled on one leg to the edge of the rock and jumped in the water.

Immediately after Armin saw Eren jump in, he saw Eren's arms start to flail. Armin gasped, quickly swam over to Eren, grabbed him around his waist, and plopped him back on the rock. While Eren was laying on his back taking deep breaths, Armin raised his voice and said, " You stupid face! You could have gotten yourself killed!" and he puffed out his cheeks adorably.

Eren gave Armin a goofy smile and started to chuckle. He put his hands up, "Sorry, sorry." Eren continued to laugh.

Armin punched his arm as hard as he could, which resulted in Eren laughing even harder. "Dude, that's your hardest punch!? You punch like a girl!" Armin, now face red and cheeks puffed out even harder, started to swim away.

Armin made sure his tail stayed hidden under the water so Eren couldn't see. Eren's laughing stopped, and he called out, "Hey! Don't leave! I was just joking around!" Armin ignored him and continued swimming away.

"I'm sorry! Just, please, come back!" Armin stopped. He could hear the distress in Eren's voice.

Armin turned around and swam back toward the rock. "Fine..." Eren's eyes lit up.

"Umm... Armin?" Armin looked up. "...how am I supposed to get home. It's getting dark, the tide is starting to pick up, and my ankle is broken."

Armin thought for a moment. "I got it! Be right back! Sit tight!" Armin swam away, but made sure to go about the pace of a human, and he didn't go underwater so Eren wouldn't suspect a thing. 

     Once Armin reached the dock where the Human's lived, he spotted his destination; a small house boat ( AN: The houses that float on water ). He silently swam over to the boat, nearing the shallow end, and went toward the latter.

'Come on Armin! All you have to do is throw yourself through that open door, find a blanket and some food, and jump back in. Can't be more than five minutes, right?'

Armin sighed, and turned around. When he got some distance, he swam as fast as he could and got a swimming start ( AN: A running start, but in the water... IDK... ) and flung himself through the door-way, gasping because of the impact. The home was very small and needed to need updated. The hardwood floors were a dark shade of brown, and so were the worn 70's style cabinetry. The living room consisted of the same floors, but a large, fluffy white rug covered an area where a coffee table was placed. There was a small TV, which clearly wasn't in its best shape. The screen had a thick layer of dust, and a hanger for clothing was used as an antenna. Armin, remembering his task at hand, began to flail around, knocking over side tables and lamps, until he found a fuzzy red blanket strung across the couch. He flung it over his shoulder and continued to flail around the small home. He reached the kitchen, and found a baguette and a water bottle. Armin grabbed them, and started heading toward the door-way, but his vision started to get fuzzy from lack on moisture.

'Come on Armin! Only a few more feet!' Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he carefully plunked himself in the water without getting the blanket or bread wet. Armin then headed toward the direction of Sandal Rock. 

    "What took ya so long?" Eren said and chuckled.

Armin rested his arms on the rock, keeping his lower half in the water and handed him the supplies.

"Thanks." Eren said simply and accepted the gifts.

He immediately wrapped himself in the fuzzy red blanket. It was now sunset, and the sky was starting to  turn midnight blue, swirls of orange and pink still present. A cold breeze blew, causing a light misting of salty ocean water to lightly coat Eren's olive tinted skin.

"Oh no! Sunset! I was supposed to be home by now." Armin thought aloud. Eren lightly socked the blond's arm. "Don't worry! I'll be fine here! Go, before you get your ass kicked." Eren winked at Armin, which caused a small blush to appear on Armin's face.

"A-alright... Are you sure you'll be ok?"

Eren flashed a million-dollar smile. "'Corse I will!" Armin slowly began to swim away.

"I'll come check on you in the morning. Meanwhile, get a good night's rest. Maybe you could swim back tomorrow." ( AN: Armin has no idea about how quickly broken bones heal because he isn't a human. Mermaids bones rarely break )

"Bye!" Eren called. Armin turned around, waving one last time and swimming far away into the horizon.

      

      Eren sighed, as he watched Armin drift away into the horizon. He flopped on his back, curled further up in the blanket, and looked at the stars. Eren had never noticed how beautiful the sky was until now. The gentle sounds of the ocean waves lapping the shore of the rock was almost lulled him to sleep. The pitch black sky had swirls of milky white, and bright cream-colored stars illuminated the sky. The stars seemed so close, yet so far. He reached a hand up toward them, and tried to grasp one. Eren then sat up, and looked at the water's reflection, which mirrored the night sky. Eren leaned over and placed the very tip of his finger on the ocean's surface. The completely still sheet of black ice dotted with white specks broke, and a ripple flowed through the water, the stars now just smudges. Eren sighed and lied back down. He continued to gaze at the stars, but he could never seem to go to sleep.

"I want to see Armin again..." He whispered to himself quietly.

His golden honey locks, his large pools of blue that mirrored the color of the ocean itself, his small pudgy nose with a slight pink tint to it, his small child-like smile, his cream seashell colored skin. Eren groaned.

'Why can't I get him out of my head?!?! He's just a regular kid!' He messaged his temples, closed his eyes, and he let the sound of ocean waves lull him to a deep, restful sleep.

   "ARMIN! Where WERE you?!?!" Armin's grandfather shouted as Armin swam through the door.

"Sorry, I had to rescue someone on the way back. But don't worry, they're safe." Armin said simply, keeping his eyes on the floor and twiddling his thumbs.

His grandfather sighed, patted Armin on the shoulder, and said, "Alright, boy. Get some sleep." And he swam up the stairs.

Armin sighed, and went upstairs as well and flopped in his bed of coral. It has the resemblance to a hammock, which Armin loved. He sighed.

Something just wasn't right... "Eren..." he whispered quietly to himself.

He pursed his lips, and lightly brushed them with his fingers, thinking deeply. He got out of bed, stared out the small window on his wall, and looked upward; He gazed at the rippled milky black sky and smeared stars. All he could think about was Eren.

'Is he safe? Is he freezing up there? Did the tide rise and wash him away?! Did he try to swim back?! Did he run out of food and water?!' Armin head ached with all these possibilities. 'Come on, Armin! You only knew him for, what, an hour?' 'But I feel like I need to do something. To protect him, I don't know.' 'But why a human? What's his reaction going to be if he finds out your a mermaid?'

Armin continued to argue with himself, and eventually he gave up trying to go to sleep. Armin quickly wrote a note to his grandfather and left it on his bed:

Armin then snuck down the stairs, slowly opened the door, closed it, and swam as fast as he could toward Eren.

"Eren..." He whispered, as he increased his speed, his ocean blue tail flapping. ( AN: Don't worry, I'm going to describe his BEAUTIFUL tail later. If your impatient, just look at the picture. )

Eren awoke with a start. He stared up at the black sky. He pulled the blanket up, rolled over, and tried to go back to sleep.

"Armin..." Eren whispered, drifting off to the vast land of imagination, exploration, and freedom, also known as the dream world.
